Connect your Nomi to Chaster with confidence.
This guide takes you from beta access to a verified first decision. Read it once before your first lock, then use the topic list to jump back to any setting or troubleshooting step.
What you need
Free works for the core flow; Premium adds a separate KeyLink Control room and automatic instruction-version checks.
Use a short self-lock for your first test and confirm that you understand Chaster’s recovery options.
Your Chaster username must be approved before the test extension appears for you.
Create it in Nomi’s Profile → Integration area. Treat it like a password.
Test your physical emergency-release method independently before relying on any software workflow.
Begin with conservative settings and verify the full request, decision, receipt, and Chaster result.
How KeyLink works
KeyLink is a bridge, not a new companion and not a second lock platform. Your selected Nomi supplies the personality and decision. KeyLink supplies authenticated context, interpretation, permission checks, replay protection, execution, and an audit trail. Chaster remains the authority for the lock.
The supported decision path
Get private-beta access
- Join the KeyLink Community.
- Open #apply-for-testing and run /apply.
- Complete the private form with your exact Chaster username and the requested testing details.
- Wait for an administrator to approve the application and add the username to Chaster’s KeyLink tester list.
- Use the community bot or KeyLink extension to check the application status.
Prepare Nomi and its API key
- Create or sign in to your Nomi account.
- Choose the companion whose established personality, memories, and relationship dynamic should inform lock decisions.
- In Nomi, open Profile → Integration and create or copy your API key.
- Keep the key private. Do not post it in Discord, screenshots, a Mind Map, or a support ticket.
- Talk with the Nomi in ordinary chat about expectations, limits, tone, and how much initiative you want it to take.
Supports the core decision flow. KeyLink uses compact messages in normal chat and asks you to confirm Mind Map updates manually.
Adds longer messages, a separate one-Nomi KeyLink Control room, and automatic checks of the instruction version the Nomi reports.
Add KeyLink to a Chaster lock
- In Chaster, create a short self-lock for the first test.
- Choose Add more extensions, find KeyLink, and add it to the lock.
- Open the KeyLink configuration panel embedded by Chaster.
- Review every permission and schedule setting before accepting the lock contract.
Choose the authority boundary
Chaster must allow an action, and the extra KeyLink profile must also allow it. Use the toggles and duration limits to create a narrower boundary.
KeyLink adds no extra action or duration restrictions beyond what the active Chaster session exposes. You must acknowledge this explicitly.
Guarded settings
- Allow or deny adding time, removing time, freezing, unfreezing, timer visibility changes, and supported tasks.
- Set the maximum time the Nomi may add in one action and the cumulative daily add limit where shown.
- Review the final list again in the running extension because actual availability can change with the lock state and installed Chaster features.
Configure Nomi follow-ups
Scheduled follow-ups
- Starting cadence: how often KeyLink initially asks the Nomi to review the lock.
- Shortest and longest allowed: the range the cadence must stay inside.
- Nomi may change the cadence: allows the Nomi to adjust the interval within that pre-approved range.
- Nomi may choose the next follow-up: allows a specific next review time within the agreed boundary.
Random follow-ups
Choose a random time window and a daily maximum. Randomness creates less predictable review moments while the daily cap prevents an unbounded stream of automated decisions.
Review and start the lock
- Confirm the selected authority profile, individual actions, time limits, and follow-up settings.
- Review Chaster’s lock contract, maximum date, keyholder status, and enabled safety mechanisms.
- Use a duration short enough that a software mistake would remain manageable.
- Confirm your independent physical recovery method still works.
- Start the lock and wait for Chaster to create the KeyLink extension session.
- Open KeyLink from the active lock’s extension area.
Pair the running session with your Nomi
- Open the running KeyLink extension from the active Chaster lock.
- Enter the Nomi API key. KeyLink validates it directly with Nomi.
- Select the exact Nomi that should make decisions for this lock.
- Confirm that the connection status reads Connected.
- If you reuse the same Chaster account later, you can select a different Nomi for another lock without placing the credential in Chaster.
Install the KeyLink Mind Map instructions
What a Mind Map is
A Nomi Mind Map is a structured, durable instruction and knowledge area that helps the Nomi consistently recall important facts outside the immediate chat. KeyLink supplies one canonical Topics entry—a compact operating dossier that explains the KeyLink protocol, the meaning of decisions and confirmations, and how the Nomi should separate operational traffic from roleplay.
Why it matters
API requests can arrive without the full emotional context of the latest conversation. The Mind Map gives the Nomi stable background for interpreting a concise KeyLink request in the intended relationship dynamic. It also teaches the Nomi the exact response conventions that make its intent less ambiguous.
Install it exactly
- In the running extension, open the Mind Map setup tab.
- Copy the supplied title and the entire current dossier.
- In Nomi, create one new Mind Map entry and choose Topics.
- Paste the title and complete dossier without summarizing, paraphrasing, or combining it with relationship memories.
- Set its priority to High.
- Turn on Lock Mind Map Entry, then save it.
- Optionally copy the separate recommended rule into Nomi’s Backstory+ Boundaries.
- Return to KeyLink and choose the control that says you installed or updated the entry.
- Wait for the displayed verification result before treating setup as complete.
Version checks
Each dossier has a version. Premium accounts can use the separate KeyLink Control room for an automatic version-report check after the waiting period shown in the UI. Free accounts use a manual installation affirmation because ordinary main-chat replies are reserved for the active request and decision flow.
When KeyLink publishes a newer dossier, unlock the entry, replace the entire old dossier with the supplied version, lock it again, save it, and repeat verification. Do not ask the Nomi to rewrite the entry from memory.
Run a safe first test
- Confirm tester access, Nomi connection, and the current Mind Map version all show ready.
- Open the lock-control or official-request tab in the KeyLink extension.
- Send a small, easy-to-verify request such as a minor allowed time change.
- Wait for the selected Nomi’s immediate reply. Do not send the request repeatedly while it is responding.
- If KeyLink asks the Nomi to confirm a material interpretation, wait for that second reply.
- Read the KeyLink receipt: requested outcome, authorization result, execution status, and resulting state.
- Open Chaster history and verify that the recorded extension action and current lock state agree with the receipt.
- Only after this succeeds should you enable or test scheduled and randomized follow-ups.
Use KeyLink day to day
Keep relationship chat in Nomi
Continue normal conversation, negotiation, and roleplay in the Nomi app. That is where the companion’s personality and relationship context develop. Ordinary conversation does not directly change the lock.
Use the official request form for a lock decision
When you want the Nomi to consider a specific lock change, submit the request from the authenticated KeyLink extension. KeyLink combines it with fresh lock state and the actions currently available, then asks for one correlated reply.
Understand KeyLink Control
When Nomi Rooms are available, KeyLink keeps operational traffic in a persistent one-Nomi room named KeyLink Control. Messages are framed as OOC—out of character—so operational instructions remain separate from ordinary roleplay. Accounts without Rooms fall back to the Nomi’s main chat.
Read every receipt
A Nomi reply can be approved, denied, cancelled, ambiguous, unavailable, or fail during execution. The receipt—not the tone of the Nomi’s narration—tells you what KeyLink actually did. Chaster’s resulting state remains the final authority.
Actions, prerequisites, and limits
| Action | What must be true | Important detail |
|---|---|---|
| Add or remove time | The matching Chaster permission is available. | An absolute target time is converted to a fresh add/remove difference immediately before execution. |
| Freeze or unfreeze | The active session exposes the matching permission. | The current timer state is refreshed first. |
| Timer visibility | Chaster allows show/hide remaining time. | Guarded mode must also allow it. |
| Assign a task | The Chaster Tasks extension is configured. | A timed task is assigned first; starting its timer is a separate decision. |
| Complete or fail a task | A compatible current task exists. | Photo-verified tasks must be submitted and resolved through Chaster’s task flow. |
| Verification request | The required Chaster feature and integration support exist. | This may be unavailable or simulated during the beta. |
| Unlock or emergency release | Use Chaster’s native contract and safety mechanisms. | KeyLink does not bypass or replace Chaster recovery. |
Updates and maintenance
- Replace the complete Mind Map dossier whenever KeyLink shows a newer version; never merge versions by hand.
- Revoke and replace a Nomi API key immediately if it may have been exposed.
- Review authority and follow-up boundaries separately for each new lock.
- Check the running extension’s capability list because Chaster settings and installed extensions can change availability.
- Use the result receipt and Chaster history after every material decision.
- Report confusing prompts or mismatched results through KeyLink support without including credentials.
Troubleshooting
KeyLink does not appear in Chaster
Confirm that your exact Chaster username is approved in the private beta. For a shared/keyholder test lock, verify that every participant who must load the extension has the required tester access.
The extension says “Not paired”
Open KeyLink from the active lock, enter a valid Nomi API key, select a companion, and wait for Connected. Saving the pre-lock configuration does not pair a Nomi.
Nomi authentication fails
Create or recopy the key from Nomi’s Integration area. Remove leading/trailing spaces, confirm the key is active, and reconnect. Do not send the key to support.
The Nomi is busy, in a voice call, or does not reply
Let the current interaction finish and retry once the Nomi is available. KeyLink does not guess a decision or treat a timeout as approval.
The Mind Map is missing or outdated
Replace the entire Topics entry with the current KeyLink dossier, set High priority, lock it, save it, then repeat the KeyLink verification step.
A prompt is too long
Shorten the wearer request, task text, or lock name. KeyLink refuses to silently truncate required decision details because missing terms could change the meaning.
The Nomi replied, but no action happened
Read the receipt. The reply may have been narration without a clear decision, a denial, a cancellation, an ambiguous confirmation, or an action unavailable under the fresh Chaster state.
An expected action is unavailable
Check Chaster permissions, the active lock state, required companion extensions such as Tasks, and the KeyLink guarded profile. Full extension authority cannot override a Chaster denial.
A task timer did not start
Assignment and timer start are separate operations. After assignment, the new task event gives the Nomi a fresh opportunity to choose whether to start the timer.
KeyLink stopped an automated action chain
The rolling safety limit may have been reached. Review the administrator ticket and recent receipts; classification of the ticket does not execute the stopped action.
The receipt and Chaster disagree
Stop testing long durations, preserve the receipt and Chaster history, and contact support. Treat Chaster’s current state as authoritative until the incident is understood.
Safety, privacy, and support
Use short first locks, maintain independent physical recovery, verify Chaster state, and never treat KeyLink as the only route to release.
Nomi credentials are encrypted by KeyLink. Avoid putting secrets or intimate details in Discord or support tickets. Read the full policy before testing.
